It all started with original owners, Warren and Shirley Lord, back in 1977. The laundry room that is currently located on the property was one of our first PEI cottages for rent. In the mid-'60s,

Newfoundland was at a critical stage for employment. Island Farmers were given Government grants to hire Newfoundlanders for seasonal employment during cropping time. All farmers who were awarded grants had to offer accommodations and meals to qualify, so the "Bunk House" was built for this purpose. Over the years, workers came and left. Eventually, the grants stopped, and so did the work. Since the Bunk House was no longer being used by employees, it was moved to the shore in the early '70s. It didn’t take long for others to enquire about short-term accommodations in the bunkhouse because the ocean-front property was so beautiful – and that is how the cottage rental part of our business started.  

Over the years, 10 cottages were eventually added to the shore. A lot of work went into each of these cottages – painting, new windows, flooring, etc. To this day, annual renovations are just part of the norm in ensuring the cottages are up to date. To date, we offer cottage rentals on our 7 acre ocean-front property, but we also offer a beautiful venue for weddings and other events including birthday parties, family reunions, or even corporate events!
